10 Miles Cover  Ten Miles From Nowhere presents a collection of letters outlining the roles of Restigouche County people during what was known as The Great War and, today, is better known as The First World War. These letters provide a unique view of the war, presenting views that sometimes complement, sometimes differ from the official accounts.

Almost all are gleaned from the pages of the Campbellton Graphic, a couple from the Tribune and a few from the collection of the Restigouche Regional Museum. They are a testimony to the dedication and courage of the people of Restigouche County.

“It would do you good to see the Canadian boys going into the trenches. Always smiling and joking with one another, at the same time knowing what is ahead of them. You can tell the people of Campbellton that there is not one that enlisted that has regretted it, or shirked his duty. Every one of them have fought bravely, although they have not won the Military Medal or the V.C. …It will not be too long before the Canadians will be marching home.”                                            –  Lt. O.J. Larzen
